Tips On How To Hang Photo Frames

Surrounding yourself with fond memories helps make your home feel even more special. These memories are captured in photographs that need to be placed at the centre of your home so that you are constantly reminded of happy times. However, arranging photo frames can be a little tricky since there are so many different displays that you can choose from.

Luckily, we’ve been able to compile a few tips and tricks to help you decide how best to hang your photo frames. Please keep reading for more.

Hanging Photo Frames

Hanging photo frames requires careful attention to detail. You don’t want to hang a photo frame that may fall or isn’t stable.

Make a mark on the wall where the top of the picture frame will lie on. Make sure to position the photo frame on the wall correctly. Hold the picture wire up using your finger and grab a measuring tape or ruler to measure the distance from your finger to the top of the photo frame. Mark that distance with a pencil mark on the wall to mark where you will position the hook. Then, hang your photo frame!

An important note to be wary of is to be sure that you handle your photo frames with care. They hold your special memories, so handle them with caution to prevent them from breaking.

Photo Frame Arrangements

There are numerous ways to get creative with hanging your photo frames. Here are just a couple of strategies to consider:

1). Centred Arrangements

Centred arrangements are especially helpful for large photo frames that can act as a centrepiece surrounded by smaller pictures or photo frames. These arrangement styles often appear formal and are commonly found in dining rooms, living rooms, and even hallways.

2). Symmetrical Arrangement

For pictures that have the same frame and aesthetic, you can place them distant from each other at equal lengths to form a symmetrical arrangement on the wall. These types of arrangements are commonly applied above sofas or consoles and help promote a tailored and formal aesthetic.

3). Asymmetrical Arrangement

An asymmetrical arrangement is unique and adds personality to various settings, from hallways, bedrooms, to living rooms. They’re a great go-to if you have a lot of photo frames to hang. A helpful tip is to try and establish a common theme. For example, you can group together photo frames of the same colour and or hang pictures that are in black and white.

4). Vertical Arrangement

For corners that need a little bit of spice and low ceilings that need to be compensated for, try arranging your photo frames horizontally to fill up the wall from the floor to the ceiling.

5). Horizontal Arrangement

Of course, since there’s a vertical arrangement, there’s a horizontal arrangement as well. However, they’re best suited for photo frames that have the same size and shape. This arrangement can also give the illusion of a wider room.

6). Picture Wire

Picture wire arrangements are easy to change and fun to feature mementoes such as snapshots or art created by your kids. You can use pegs or clips of different shapes, sizes, and colours to help bring out your personality.

7). Floating Shelves

Picture framing can also experiment with the shelves themselves. Floating shelves are very popular nowadays because they’re creative and allow you to set framed photos of any shape and size. They’re casual, fun, whimsical, and can give a relaxed feeling as well.

Summary

There are plenty of ways to get creative with the way that you hang your photo frames. You can experiment a bit with the arrangement styles or try incorporated tools such as wires or shelves to better showcase your snapshots.

Wonderful experience. I first went into the store very tentatively, not sure if I ‘needed’ a custom made frame, however, having Victor’s consultative input on the different frame designs and customisable feature was so valuable. In the end Victor helped create a beautiful frame for my father in law’s memorial service sheets. As you can imagine, this was a sensitive thing to put in someone else’s hands but the team treated everything with such care and the finished product looks amazing. Thanks guys, would 100% recommend.read more
